The 21-year-old Compton rapper received nomination for three Grammys this year, including two for “Racks in the Middle.”

He confirmed that Nipsey had a great impact on him and his community. “He was more than just another rapper to me. He was one of the young motivational role models in the city,” said Roddy. “He really had a positive connection with young people. It wasn’t always about being the toughest or trying to prove yourself or be something you wasn’t. It was more so about being who you were and always having a strong mentality in whatever you wanted to do as far as your ventures.”

Ricch’s success is still in motion. After topping the Billboard Hot 100 for 11 weeks with “The Box,” he is redying to release a video for “High Fashion,” the Mustard-produced single off his debut Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial.

Although, his “Rockstar” collaboration with DaBaby is already a top 10 hit. The song currently maintains a No. 8 position on the Hot 100.
