Still Fresh from winning the 2019 American League Cy Young Award, the Astros ace and his wife Kate Upton whose a model met with the Texans‘ star defensive end and quarterback Deshaun Watson at NRG Stadium prior to Houston’s AFC South matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night.

Verlander, who encouraged Astros teammate Gerrit Cole to win his second career Cy Young Award, payed the injured Watt a visit, exchanging hand shakes and hugs with the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, who is recovering after undergoing surgery to repair a torn pectoral.

Verlander, who had won the Cy Young in the past, sometime in 2011 with the Detroit Tigers, got to visit the locker room post-game and chat with Watson, whom he has shared a bond with since the two arrived in Houston in 2017.

Verlander got to take home a game-worn signed jersey by Watson – not the color rush jersey from Thursday’s win – according to an Instagram post.
